On May 12, 2022, the great Master Perfumer Rosendo Mateu passed away. Rosendo Mateu was one of Spain's few great master perfumers. During 40 years of professional activity at Puig, he developed iconic fragrances for the sector. In 2017, he decided to start and create his own signature perfumery company with his son Juan.

Always open to collaborating, he has promoted his collaboration with associations and non-profit entities. He is a jury member of the Barcelona International New Roses Contest, a member of the Beauty Cluster Advisory Council since 2018 and jury president of the Concours International de Parfumerie - Mouillette d'Argent since its inception in 2018 as well. In 2016 he was, the institutional figure who opened the first edition of the Barcelona Perfumery Congress and was a member of the jury for the Best Signature Perfumery Award, as part of the Perfumery of the Year Awards organized by BeautyProf and Selectivo. Rosendo Mateu has subsequently received further recognition, including appointment as an Academician of the Académie du Parfum in 2021.

He has always stood out for his passion for sharing knowledge. He was one of the instructors of the first specialized training course in perfumery launched in 2022 by the Beauty Cluster, Beauty Business School and IQS.

His loss leaves a huge void in the perfume industry and, above all, in his family. His loved ones and those who, day after day, were able to enjoy his company and his perfumery wisdom, will all bid him a final farewell next Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Mataró Funeral Home.
