Deaths - Tribute to Philippe Anglade
TRIBUTE
PHILIPPE ANGLADE
It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Philippe Anglade.
We offer his wife and family our most sincere condolences.
Philippe was always passionate about perfumery.
He began his career with Polak & Schwartz in Holland. In 1959, he joined Colgate Palmolive as a perfumer.
In 1969, he continued his career as head perfumer at Dragoco. At these companies, he worked with Jean-Claude Henry, and met such industry figures as Patrick Des Pallières and André Le Bozecque. In 1969, he joined IFF as Fragrance Evaluation Director, later becoming Sales Director and retiring in 1999.
In the 2000s, he set up his own consulting company, Aromatics Conseils.
A talented perfumer, he won the STPF's Prix des Parfumeurs de France (now the SFP's Prix International du Parfumeur Créateur) in 1963, and was always an enthusiastic participant in the evaluation and sample preparation sessions for the prize juries.
Philippe loved fine raw materials, and played an active role in promoting celles-ci through his involvement in the "Journées des matières premières"He was one of the pillars of this event, which was held at the Espace Champerret in Paris.
He was one of the pillars of this event, known and recognized by a large number of players and visitors.
For many of us, he will remain a former colleague, a friend, an accomplice who adored life and the convivial gatherings during which he passed on his joie de vivre with a sense of humor.
Goodbye Philippe, we miss you already.
