We are saddened to announce the death of Francis BOCRIS, a talented perfumer and former member of the Société Française des Parfumeurs, who passed away in Nice on January 5 in his 80th year.
Francis BOCRIS had a long and rich career as an international perfumer. He trained in French perfumery in 1964 with Antoine Chiris in Grasse, and in 1968 joined Créations Aromatiques when it was founded by Léon Givaudan. He worked there for 17 years, first in Geneva with Mr. Classen, then in Neuilly-sur-Seine in 1981. He created numerous compositions, including Paloma Picasso in 1984.
He left the Créations Aromatiques group at the end of 1984 to take over the management in 1985 of Fritze Dolge & Olcot (FDO) France, an American company based in New York.He then moved to FELTON as Executive Vice President, Worldwide President, Fine Fragrance Division.
In 1991, he decided to set up his own company, "BOCRIS Fragrances", which he managed brilliantly for 27 years until 2018, working for many countries around the world. That year, he decided to finally retire.
Francis BOCRIS was passionate about our business. Those who knew him appreciated his talent as a perfumer and his empathy with his colleagues.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends, to whom we offer our deepest condolences.
